Main Influence

The main style we initially want to achieve is similar to that of the game Okami developed by Clover Studios in 2007 for the PS2 and 2008 for the Wii.

The game has a very unique style which sets it apart from other games. Its a cel shaded game that is heavily influenced by traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e art and it is BEAUTIFUL. I played this game when it came out on both consoles and I was blown away both times by its art style.

It uses both 2D and 3D in the game, while you can see what objects are in 2D or 3D it really adds to the style and the character of the game.

I loved how unique the game looked when it was released. It was unique and really left an impression on me and I really hope to replicate the style or close to the stay as possible for the Cat and Rat.
Its water colour style is elegant and simple and added a certain charm to the game that it would otherwise not have if it was in a different style.
